You know, when a girl likes a boy - they make it pretty obvious... but maybe not to the boy. I have to admit that sometimes, girls send really weird mixed signals (not me - I am super bait) but yeah, it happens.
What guys don't get to see is the behind the scenes action when a girl likes a guy. It's actually freaking adorable. You know even if the girl doesn't explicitly say they like a guy - you can totally tell. Boys don't typically get to see these reactions but I wanted to share because I think it's absolutely "awwww" - worthy.
1) She smiles at her phone -
Probably because she's reading some text message or bbm or msn message. This is your cue (as a friend whether you're a girl or a guy) to ask: " Who's the boy?" or "Who are you texting?" Usually, I just jump right in with the: "Is he hot?". See, I'm a straight shooter.
2) She checks her phone every 2 minutes -
Not always an indicator of a boy but if you know there's a boy in question... she is probably waiting on some sort of a response to the last message she sent.. or facebook stalking using her data plan or something. Okay, that isn't too cute. In fact, it's kind of creepy. Take it as a form of flattery dudes. I know you facebook stalk too - it's like a disease.
3) Word vomit -
Coined from the popular movie, Mean Girls, she mentions the name over and over and over again. Honestly, this doesn't necessarily have to do with guys - the same applies to those funny stories or anecdotes that I'm sure you've heard from your friends. You know, the crowd pleasers you've heard a bunch of times and you have to tell your amazing friend that you've heard this story already. Four times.
4) She gets the giggles -
I really don't think boys see this. Even if they have lots of girls that are friends just because it's such a girly girl thing and it takes some tact. Usually, the giggles occur when one friend (usually a girl because really, it's hard for boys to say these things and not sound weird or awkward) inserts the phrases or similar phrases into the conversation: "awwww, you liiiiiike him" or "awww, you guys are cute".
Yes, yes, welcome to high school. This is followed by the subject friend getting the giggles about whatever boy (or girl - no discrimination here) happens to be the topic of conversation.
5) She smiles when 'the name' is mentioned -
This is my favourite. It happens with boys and girls. Because when that name is mentioned whether I'm talking to a guy friend about a girl he's seeing or a girl friend about a guy she likes - you get to see it in that smile. You probably know the one. The shy smile or the gleam in their eye. Says it all. SO OBVI.
So cute.
bahahah.
Just my random observations, I suppose. But they're pretty general - if you didn't notice these things before, you'll start. Trust.
